Understanding the Need for R/3 Architecture With Regards to SAP
Are you someone who is considering SAP career or SAP employment? If so, you will find that this field has a lot of potential for growth. SAP is actually the fourth largest software company in the world.
It comes in behind Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle, but it is still the largest Enterprise Resource Planning solution provider out there. There is no doubt that this company has definitely been a pioneer in its field, and you will find that if you are interested in SAP job or SAP career of any sort, you need to look at their product, SAP R/3. SAP R/3 represents real time data processing, and the ‘three’ refers to a three-tier application architecture. What do you need to know about this software, and how could it affect your SAP employment?
When you are thinking about looking at this product, there are a number of things that you need to keep in mind. The first server that you need to think about is the presentation server, which is a program known as sapgui.exe. It will be installed on a user's workstation and when started, there will be a display of the R/3 menus in a window. Then it will accept commands from the user and in turn it will start sending commands back to the application server. This understanding is just about as far as most people get, and you will find that you need to go deeper if you are going to be able to move forward with this type of employment.
The next thing that you should consider when you are looking at moving forward with SAP is that you should look at the application server. The application server is essentially a set of executable commands that manage input and output. When it is started, all the commands start at once, and when it is halted, all the commands stop at once as well. The limit on the number of processes that you can start up with an application server is going to be defined by the application server profile. Each application server profile will show you what is in it when it starts running, giving you important information like the number of processes, their types, as well as the length of time that a user is going to be inactive before being logged off.
The final part of the R/3 system is going to be the database server, which is essentially a set of executables that will allow database requests from the application server. These will then be passed on to the Relation Database Management System, and in turn, this will send data back to the database server. This will go back to the application server and then in turn back to the ABAP/4 program that most users have access to.
Take a moment to think about the work that you are going to have to do when it comes to getting the right kind of result from your work and make sure that you are in the right place!

Several years ago, I was in the midst of opening up various legal recruiting offices around the United States. In my sheer enthusiasm for the business, I would bring new recruiters from around the country to Los Angeles and have them live with me for several months while training them in my method of recruiting. The new recruiters would sit in my office and I would observe them recruiting and ... |
